Pages
You can chat with other people on webpages, but you have to "join" the page first. This takes just a few seconds.
TIP
Other users can't see or chat with you on any page, until you've "joined" it. This is done for privacy reasons.
Join
Individual Sites
To chat on a page:
- Click the Page button in the status bar:
- The page dialog should appear.
- Click on the Users tab:
- Click on one of the following:
- Add Entire Site (chat on any page on the site) or
- Add Current Page (chat on only this page) or
- / Group/Realm Settings You should only see this option, if the group or realm owner already suggested this site. Click to join this way.
- Your choice should appear.
- Click OK.
- After a few seconds the Page button in the status bar should change: . You've now entered the page and can chat with other users.
In the future, any time you enter/browse to this page, you'll be able to chat on it automatically. If you want to stop this automatically happening, you need to quit the page.
Suggested Sites
The easiest way to select multiple sites to chat on, is to accept your group or realm's suggested sites.
To accept your suggested sites:
- Enter the group or realm.
- Click the Group or Realm button in the status bar. It should look like this (unless they have a custom icon): or
- A dialog should appear.
- Click on the Sites tab:
- Select any sites you wish to join.
- Click OK.
You'll continue to enter these pages/sites, until you unselect them, or leave the group or realm.
All Sites
If you want to chat on every page you visit:
- Click the Page button in the status bar: or
- The page dialog should appear.
- Click on the Properties tab:
- Select the All Sites, Except option.
- Click OK.
You can specifically omit cerain sites, by adding them to your sites tab. The Sensitive Sites option blocks entering some top sites, but is NOT all inclusive.
No Sites
If you want to disable chatting on all pages:
- Click the Page button in the status bar: or
- The page dialog should appear.
- Click on the Properties tab:
- Select the No Sites option.
- Click OK.
This overrides any group or realm suggested sites. You can still send/receive group and whisper messages.
Enter
Once you've joined a page or site, every time you browse to it, you'll automatically chat on it. A few seconds after visiting the site, the Page button in the status bar will change to look like this:
That means you're ready to chat with anybody on the page.

You can only chat on one page at a time in your browser.
Exit
To stop chatting on a page:
Do one of the following:
After a few seconds, you'll exit the page.
When chatting is disabled on a page, the Page button in the status bar looks like this:

Once you enter a page, you'll remain in it, even while tabbing to a non-joined web site. This is so you can quickly visit non-joined pages without missing messages in the page you're on.
Quit
To disable automatically chatting on a page/site:
- Click the Page button in the status bar: or
- The page dialog should appear.
- Click on the Sites tab:
- Select the site you wish to quit. If you don't see the site, you're joined because of a group or realm suggested site (click on the "Why am I joined" button).
- Click the More Menu options drop down:
- Select Delete: . The site should disappear.
- Click OK.
